CAMHS Unit
The works at the CAMHS Unit in Newham comprised the construction of a residential mental health facility specifically for children and adolescents. Twelve individual bedrooms with en-suites for patients with other day and specialist areas including a three bed psychiatric intensive care unit.
This project is procured under the Government’s PFI initiative, the contract being let under a JCT Design and Build form of contract with suitable amendments.

What we did
The building is constructed within the grounds of an existing adult mental healthcare facility on three floors. The ground floor being the patient residential and day facilities with the staff and administration areas on the first floor.
The foundations are piled with a masonry and glazed superstructure and standing seam metal roof.
The results
The building was completed, on programme, on 24 March 2006.
